My Thoughts On Masks

The following blog is where I stand on the mask issue. There are people who believe that Masks are safer and there are people who believe that they are putting that stuff out to try and control the people. I am going to give us both sides of the spectrum and where I stand.

Here is the Scientific evidence masks are safe. This article even enlightened me to some areas and some questions that people have asked. I won’t post my oppinions until I’ve read through and posted both sides. Unlike other blogs, I post the links to what I’m reading and let you read the link from the site itself, and then I’ll post my positions on the subject. This way, the article that I write is smaller.

The following links are from the CDC and are also linked to another paper which we will get to later to link these things together. The following article contains the CDC Guidelines updated November 16, 2020. Our next papper from the CDC describes multiple studies they compiled and their conclusion as to the effectiveness of Face Masks. The following link from the WHO summarizes their guidance on the use of masks and COVID-19. However, I advize you to read the file that they have linked to on the website. On a mobile phone, a download is not necessary since you are reading it just this one time. To read the summary and its report, click here!

A new study suggests that lockdowns and mask-wearing are not effective and that the pandemic actually slows down on its own. Read the paper here, as, what I’ve written is only a summary of the papper. This article discusses the results of a study where they incorporate both Surgical Masks, aka Medical Masks and N95 Respirators and see if there are any differeneace in the results between these groups, which you can read here.

There is another article which discusses another study of the same thing as the one I linked to above. However, this looks at data from 2020 and other different resources somewhat than that of the previous study I mentioned above. This article can be read here!

The following study discusses using such barriers as facemasks during the COVID-19 pandemic, which you can read here! This article has not been peer reviewed, which means that they do not advize that this be used for medical purposes as you will see in the article above. This article is from Russel Blaylock, discussing the same thing. Reading and listening to the repetitiveness of these articles caused me to not continue in pursuing my goal of linking to all of the studies cited here.

The following article discusses why the WHO said that we should wear masks and more. Also, please read Paulo’s comment and more than that, read the author of this article, Madison’s reply to the comment (I’m having us look at all angles and get the information we need so that we can make the best informed oppinion coupled with prayer). To read the article, click here!

Now that we get the gist of both sides of the spectrum, I will tell you my position:

  • If you are not going to immerse this information in prayer (Proverbs 3:5-6), then I advise you to wear your mask.
  • As you can see, both sides present scientifically their point of view, and due to so much information and disinformation both, we don’t know what is true. This is why I stay with the Christian outlets. That way at least my faith is built up when watching the news. I have learned about this truth while watching the impeachment proceedings of President Trump. Because they were so long, I didn’t watch them all, but rest assured: if I didn’t have the Bible, I would not know what to believe and I wouldn’t know who’s side to be on. I might be dogmatic about my oppinions and I wouldn’t be swayed by the other side, whatever that may be, but I would not know if I was siding with the truth.
  • Because we think we know the truth pertaining to masks but we really don’t know if we do (I’m sure many of you in your minds are convinced of your view, but due to the above fact, I say this), this is why I personally am going to wear my mask. I also will wear my mask because I don’t have an immune system (no Petuitary Gland present) and therefore need to be safe, lest I get COVID-19.

Thank you for reading this blog I have put together. I hope it has helped you richly. Also, if you share this, make sure you don’t do so with your bias. My intent is for this to be as unbiased as it can be and even when I present my oppinions, I always advise you to read the information for yourself. God bless!

My name is Patelin Cogswell. I was born on September 24, 1998. I was born in Oklahoma City. I went to Oklahoma School for the Blind and graduated in 2017. I am called as a Minister of the Gospel and an Intercessor. However, this is not about me. My life is dedicated to making Christ alone. This blog was called because I didn’t want my name on the blog like others do because I feel like it is not me living but Christ living through me.
