Policing and the Bible

The following blog stems from another article from Decision Magazine which can be found here. As you can see when reading the article, this is a question and answer article. I want to begin by reminding you of The Purge Series of movies which you may or may not have watched. As you know, this series shows instances where annually, they for one night do not have any emergency systems and basically legalize lawlessness for one night (watch series for m). If you support defunding the police, what you see on The Purge is exactly what you’ll get in real life like I’ve said before.

At one point in the article, the interviewer asks Sen. Tim Scott about the time Sen. Tim Scott quoted Ezekiel 33 in a speech on the Senate floor when discussing a bill on policing and what to do pertaining to the Police brutality which Blacks encounter on the streets. This discussion was back in June.

The next question and answer discuss when he talks about the false binary choice people have, which can be found both in the speech and in the article linked above. Heelaborates on what he means and I wholeheartedly agree with his assessment, which can be found in the link to the article which is found in my introduction to this blog.

The next question deals with what parts of the bill Americans will agree on. There is also some more discussion about stereotyping of police officers. We Christians also stereotype the Pharisees, almost like they are all bad. We also need to reform our theology on the Pharisees. If you get offended at me when I say that and you say you love the truth, you either need to stop lying and you can keep your beliefs, or you need to repent because you really don’t love the truth. Look at Nicodemus in John 3 and its reinactment which I linked to just now. I linked to the whole episode where it can be found so it will be more impactful, but please watch the whole season to get more.

The next answer to the next question reminds me of a sermon that I listened to a while back. Pastor Craig alludes to doing something similar to that of Sen. Tim Scott.

Sen. Tim Scott’s answer to the very last question is one that I will agree with. In Heaven, people of every tongue, tribe and nation will be there, worshipping the Lord. John Kilpatrick once in reference to the worship in his church said, “This is just a taste of heaven. If you don’t like this, you’ll be bored in Heaven.” However, the only people that were there were white people. To me, that is NOT, and I repeat: that is BY NO MEANS, a taste of Heaven, though the presence of God is present. At the very least it is a very small glimpse of what Heaven is like. However, to actually taste heaven, one must have blacks, whites, and people of other ethnicities, not just the race of our kind–in my case, the Whites. I’m very strong about this. Thank you for reading this blog and my commentary concerning the interview. God bless!
