It is written: For when you demonstrate the same love I have for you by loving one another, everyone will know that you’re my true followers.” (John 13:35). Welcome to Testimony Tuesday. Today’s testimony has to do with the way that a Christian is called to “conquer,” for lack of better words. For the Lord states that if His kingdom were of this world, we, His followers would have to fight tooth and knail using military weapons to defend Him. However, Jesus said that His kingdom was not of this world. So, with that in mind, I will post this Scripture:
For although we live in the natural realm, we DON’T wage a military campaign employing human weapons, using manipulation to achieve our aims. Instead, our spiritual weapons are energized with divine power to effectively dismantle the defenses behind which people hide. We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One. Since we are armed with such dynamic weaponry, we stand ready to punish any trace of rebellion, as soon as you choose complete obedience (2 Corinthians 10:3-6, TPT, Emphasis added).
Here’s a Scripture we quote ALL the time, but we neglect to see its true meaning. I want us to meditate on the following Scripture, asking the Holy Spirit to help us to walk it out in our lives:
Your hand-to-hand combat is NOT with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage (Ephesians 6:12, TPT, emphasis added).
The Story of Jim And Elisabeth Elliot In Full, Plus Some Additional Videos And Resources
I would now like to post a song from Keith Green. Jim’s desire that everyone was to be on the mission field as was spoken of by Elisabeth in the 51 minute video that I posted at the beginning reminded me of this.
The purpose of this Testimony Tuesday as I write this is not to convince you to go to the mission field, but rather, that all of us would strive to be more like Christ and stop conquering as the world conquers. However, what happens in you reading this is beyond my control. I know and understand that the Lord will do with it whatever is needed to be done. Please be sure after you have read this and write your feedback in the comments. I’d like to hear from you.
Do you need to redicate your lives to the Lord or accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Below, I will post the link to how you should do this. But first, I have this advice to give you for after you take this next step in life: Be sure to plug in to a local Church community which teaches sound doctrine. If you are in the OKC area, you can go to 2101 NW 16th and at 10:15 A.M. on Sunday mornings, they have their worship service. I think it is in the sanctuary, but for more information and just in case rong, go to http://www.theparishokc.com for more information. The 12:30 P.M. service is in the north building which we call the Fellowship Hall. God bless and here’s the resource!
