Fun Friday: The Chosen S1E7

Hello and welcome to another installment of Fun Friday. I hope you all enjoy and remember this: If you want to watch the last episode without waiting, you can go to to watch it on your computer or other devices, or to get the app, God bless!

1. The Biblical Roundtable:

Again, I was unable either by my lack of searching or by the lack of there being a clip, to find even an excerpt of the roundtable for Episode 7. So, I encourage you to go to one of the sites mentioned above and watch the Deep Dive Section, which is where you will find the Roundtable for this episode.

2. The Episode

A. They begin the episode with a flashback to an Old Testament story where Moses makes and impales a bronze serpent on a pool for the people to look upon and live. The serpents were biting the people and the people of Israel were dying (See Numbers 21:4-9). Notice what Moses says he learned from the Lord. Also, remember for your own recollection what happened at Meribah.

B. Notice Joshua’s demeanor toward the serpent and notice Moses’ response at the end of the flashback scene.

C. Be sure to read John 3 either before or after the scene where Jesus talks with Nicodemus on the roof. How has the scene as portrayed in the show brought this Scripture to life for you?

D. What was Jesus’ response when Simon said, “I don’t understand?”

E. Can you relate to Matthew throughout this episode (and others)?

F. Bonus: Throughout this episode, notice the grace of Jesus as presented by Jonathan Roumi, especially when Mary mentions “a Pharisee.” If this part convicts you, pause the episode or do it afterward, but make sure you have a moment with the Lord and ask Him to help you to grow in this area.

God bless and enjoy this show!

P.S. How did you like watching my favorite episode last week? Episode 3 was my first favorite; for it gives us a glimpse into what could have been the life of Christ when alone and with the children. However, since I’ve watched Episode 6, Episode 6 has become my absolute first favorite.

This blog was called because I didn’t want my name on the blog like others do because I feel like it is not me living but Christ living through me.
