God’s Will Pertaining Sickness

Welcome to this blog. I want us to consider this very familiar verse.

Beloved friend, I pray that you are prospering in every way and that you continually enjoy good health, just as your soul is prospering (3 John 2, TPT).

God Wants You Well And Joyful

I made the heading actually the title of the article that I will be posting at the end. I would like us to see different perspectives. I believe that Jesus didn’t want to just do miracles for the sake of miracles. He did have to turn people down, only because they were just seeking signs. “Show us a sign,” they would say, “and then we will believe.” However, Jesus said of those that dilligently seek Him 2 things. I will post the Scriptures below and stop and comment on the way.

And everyone my Father has given to me, they will come. And all who come to me, I will embrace and will never turn them away (John 6:37, TPT).

This verse in context is talking about salvation. However, to make a point, I want to use it for healing. Elisabeth Elliot got dementia when she got old as you will see at a future Testimony Tuesday blog. However, she did NOT ask for healing. She just said, “God knows what’s best.” I like and admire that she trusted God, but Jesus healed everyone who came to Him and asked in faith. Even the Syrophoenician woman was healed. Jesus said at first, “It is not good for Me to give the children’s bread to dogs.” I’m sure you have read this story many times, but look at her response. This response moved Jesus, and He even healed her daughter. I used to tell Grandpa, “Well, there were probably places in history where Jesus didn’t heal someone.” However, that would mean that Scripture was in error if there was some spot in history that Jesus turn some passionately seeking person away and did not heal them because it was God’s will.

And without faith living within us it would be IMPOSSIBLE to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who passionately seek him (Hebrews 11:6, TPT).

This time, the Scripture speaks for itself. The Lord wants us to passionately seek Him. I forgot to mention in the parenthesis that the emphasis was my own.

Now I would like to post a link to the devotional that I have been discussing with you.

My name is Patelin Cogswell. I was born on September 24, 1998. I was born in Oklahoma City. I went to Oklahoma School for the Blind and graduated in 2017. I am called as a Minister of the Gospel and an Intercessor. However, this is not about me. My life is dedicated to making Christ alone. This blog was called kingdomadvance.family.blog because I didn’t want my name on the blog like others do because I feel like it is not me living but Christ living through me.
