Why Watch Faith-Based News?

Hello everyone! I’d like to talk with you about another subject that is near and dear to my heart: the News.

As you have seen, I only read faith-based news outlets’ articles. Today, I want to tell you why I only endorse faith-based news organizations, which may help you make an informed decision for your own lives and faith.

Brothers and sisters in the Lord, I would like to start with a Scripture. It is a very familiar passage of Scripture which you have read umpteen amount of times as I also have. However, we need to revisit this Scripture.

“Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? I encourage you to surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship. Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.”

Here are some reasons why I don’t even endorse listening to truthful media made by worldly organizations. Granted, people of faith work at these organizations, but these organizations are not setting out to make news articles explicitly based upon faith.

1. They tell you the human side of people. I see prophetic voices of our day listening to TheBlaze TV and other that, granted, may be truthful. However, these people attack people that differ in policy or other beliefs. They don’t know where these people are at with the Lord or other things pertaining to this person’s faith walk. Here is an article and video that shows me one reason why I should be reading and listening to the news only from faith-based organizations.

As you see, these two links attack people. Link 1 attacks both Christians and Joe Biden. Link 2 called the Democrat Christians, “The Deep State Church.” They may be correct that parts of the Church are a part of the problem, but when words such as these get spit out into the airwaves, it gives the brothers and sisters in the Church that agree with the person a license to attack that group of people. Every last one of us are prejudiced. I disagree with Joe Biden and the Democrats on stances such as Abortion, but by no means does that make me superior and my Democrat brothers and sisters in the Lord inferior. We are just as “racist” if you call it that as the called the Indians beasts, and as those whites as look down on the blacks. I put the word racist in quotes because although this is not about ethnicity, it is the same thing. We are being prejudiced against people that we disagree with and/or that disagree with us. Also, I will not post it here due to space, but either I have or I will post an article from CBN News which talks about the night when Joe Biden accepts the nomination as President. See how they do NOT dehumanize this man, although they disagree with his viewpoints.

2. It helps us truly keep the faith. If you were to look at the worldly news outlets talking about COVID-19, they put fear in They only talk about COVID, COVID and more COVID, unless something like the elections come up. But then when the election events are not happening, more COVID. The Faith-based organizations give you ways that you can keep the faith. They are not just news organizations, but the give us teachings as well as news, which helps us to fight the good fight of faith. So many times, we watch other outlets, and we think we are keeping the faith. However, I present to you a challenge: for 30 days, unsubscribe from every mainstream/worldly outlet, no matter how truthful it is. Subscribe to the faith-based organizations of your choice. Comment below or share however you feel like what the results of this challenge/experiment are. Do you feel more empowered with being able to read or hear teachings from other people and not just news? I encourage you to take this challenge and tell everyone the results. Sorry if this is so long. However, I felt that this was one blog that must be very thoughtfully written for all to understand. God bless!

Love in Christ,

Patelin

My name is Patelin Cogswell. I was born on September 24, 1998. I was born in Oklahoma City. I went to Oklahoma School for the Blind and graduated in 2017. I am called as a Minister of the Gospel and an Intercessor. However, this is not about me. My life is dedicated to making Christ alone. This blog was called kingdomadvance.family.blog because I didn’t want my name on the blog like others do because I feel like it is not me living but Christ living through me.
