Dismantling Pride: Twelve Steps to Freedom

“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble,” the Bible says. How many teachings have you heard on pride that condemns you for it, but you just cannot overcome pride although you know it’s wrong.

You might even feel what you consider to be the conviction of the Holy Spirit (based on your religious upbringing) but you the wallow in condemnation afterward because you just know that God doesn’t look on you favorably. Well, last Tuesday, the Lord moved powerfully in our church service in which we all agreed it would be fitting to begin a twelve step program to overcome pride.

I want everyone who reads this blog to comment below your prayer request. It could be any, but specifically, in what way has pride prevented you from living the life the Lord wants for you but you want to live this life? Has condemnation over this “sin” kept you from coming to the presence of the Lord because it is supposed that the Lord opposes you or you are His enemy? If it is too personal, I encourage you to text (1) 405-509-5337 your answers to these questions, email kingdomadvancement252@gmail.com or hit the “contact” link on http://www.stormministries.com (we have until Tuesday when this begins which is why we will not be accepting mail requests as of at the beginning. However, if would prefer, we may be able to pray over your requests in the coming weeks so you can contact us at Preach Unto Them Jesus • PO Box 7293 • Edmond, Oklahoma • 73013).

Also, please remember to find an accountability partner (someone you trust) before you start listening to these teachings. If this person has not overcome pride but would like to do this with you, please ask them to write their prayer requests also. God bless and we hope to see your comments below the videos and how they help you! See you then!

My name is Patelin Cogswell. I was born on September 24, 1998. I was born in Oklahoma City. I went to Oklahoma School for the Blind and graduated in 2017. I am called as a Minister of the Gospel and an Intercessor. However, this is not about me. My life is dedicated to making Christ alone. This blog was called kingdomadvance.family.blog because I didn’t want my name on the blog like others do because I feel like it is not me living but Christ living through me.
