The Duty of a Watchman Sermon Outline

1. Boldness From The Spirit

1. Ezekiel 3:5-9, NKJV: 5 For you are not sent to a people of unfamiliar speech and of hard language, but to the house of Israel, 6 not to many of unfamiliar speech and of hard language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely, had I sent you to them, they would have listened to you. 7 But the house of Israel will not listen to you, because they will not listen to Me; for all the house of Israel are impudent and hard-hearted. 8 Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their foreheads. 9 Like adamant stone, harder than flint, I have made your forehead; do not be afraid of them; nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.”
2. Leviticus 19:17, NKJV: 17 ×y shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.
3. Joel 2:28-29, NKJV: 28 And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.
4. Acts 2:ad-18, TPT: 14 Peter stood up with the eleven apostles and shouted to the crowd. “Listen carefully, my fellow Jews and residents of Jerusalem. You need to clearly understand what’s happening here. 15 These people are not drunk like you think they are, for it is only nine o’clock in the morning. 16 This is the fulfillment of what was prophesied through the prophet Joel, for God says: 17 ×Th is what I will do in the last days —I will pour out my Spirit on on everybody and cause your sons and daughters to prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men will experience dreams from God. 18 The Holy Spirit will -every upon all my servants, men and women alike, and they will prophesy.
5. Luke 24:47-49, TPT: 47 Now you must go into all the nations and preach repentance and forgiveness of sins so that they will turn to me. Start right here in Jerusalem, 48 for you are my witnesses and have seen for yourselves all that has transpired. 49 I will send the fulfillment of the Father’s promise to you, so stay here in the city until you clothed with the mighty power of heaven.”
6. Acts 1:4, TPT: 4 Jesus instructed them, “Don’t leave Jerusalem, but wait here until you receive the gift I told you about, the gift the Father has promised.
7. Acts 1:8, TPT: 8 But I promise you this—the Holy Spirit will come upon you and you will be seized with power. You will be my messengers to Jerusalem, throughout Judaea, the distant provinces —even to the remotest places on earth!”

2. What does it mean to study to show yourself approved?

1. 2 Timothy 3:15, KJV: 15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.” To study to show yourself approved in this verse is self-explanatory. It not only has to do with studying the Word to fend off enemy attacks and to teach others, but has to do with studying books about world religions and cults to teach deceived Christians the truth.
2. Ezekiel 3:10-11, NKJV: 10 Moreover He said to me: “Son of man, receive into your heart all My words that I speak to you, and hear with your ears. 11 “And go, get to the captives, to the children of your people, and speak to them and tell them, ×Thus says the LORD God,` whether they hear or whether they refuse.”

3. Why Connect With Others?

1. Ezekiel 3:15, NKJV: 15 Then I came to the captives at Tel Abib, who dwelt by the River Kebar; and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.
2. Acts 17:23, TPT: 23 For as I walked through your city, I was captivated by the many shrines and objects of your worship. I even found an inscription on one altar that read, ×To the unknown God.` I have come to introduce you to this God whom worship without even knowing anything about him.

In his book, Youngone Communicates, Few Connect pg. 19 in iBooks, John C. Maxwell defines connecting as “the ability to identify with people and relate to them in a way that increases your influence with them.” This is pivotal in every area of our lives, as even the Scriptures show us.

4. What Is A Watchman?

1. Ezekiel 3:16-21, NKJV: 16 Now it came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me: 18 “When I say to the wicked, ×Y shall surely die,` and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. 19 “Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. 20 “Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die; because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand. 21 “Nevertheless, if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning, also you will deliver your soul.”
2. Ezekiel 33:1-9, NKJV: 1 Again, the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them, ×When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman, 3 “when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people 4 “then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head. 5 ×He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life. 6 ×B if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.` “So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman of the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for me. 8 “When I say to the wicked, ×O wicked man, you shall surely die!` and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. 9 “Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.

The Lord is waking up the body of Christ in this hour. This year, 2022, is the year of returning. The Lord reminded me of a dream I had on May 20, 2020. Here is the part that was highlighted: In this dream, there was a pool of distress which I felt to label as “the pool of repentance.” I also am reminded of another dream on June 17, 2020 which has been highlighted to me: Last night, I had a dream that there was a lady who was searching for truth. This lady went into a cult setting. She didn’t know that it was a cult setting, though. However, this “coach” as they called them who was questioning the beliefs of this cult for question some time took her in. She didn’t know what type of books the others were reading, so she got one of the Bibles from the cabin which she was in. She started devouring this Bi. I do not know if the coach started teaching her anything as I didn’t see that activity. However, she grew more and more passionate about the Word. There was a rule in this cult that one who is doing communion cannot invite newcommers into the sacrament. However, this coach one day did just that. There was another saying going around this cult that any bad you do will “come back to hit you in the face.” (In other words, if you break a rule in this cult, it will come back to haunt you). The coach kept checking on her for quite some time to see if this was the case and found that it was not. There was not much activity made know in the dream but in the end of the dream, there was a meeting over the book that the others were reading which was the book that the cult taught out of. This lady took charge of the meeting. She was reading out of a Braille Bible. I do not know exactly what the leader of the meeting had them talking about as I didn’t see any activity up until the lady took charge. She says that they were reading out of the book of Colossians, but I found in study that she was actually teaching out of Philippians 2:5-11. She was speaking passionately about how our Lord lowered Himself even to the point of death, thinking it not robbery to be equal with God. I couldn’t tell you everything that she said in that meeting. But there was one point that she stood up and said, “Any book that doesn’t have the contents that the Word has in its entirety is NOT holy.” She went on to passionately speak about the Holy Scriptures while pounding on the table passionately with a small box that one can hold in the palm of their hand.

• Jeremiah 6:17, NKJV: 17 “Also, I set watchmen over you, saying, ×Listen to the sound of the trumpet!` But they said, (We will not listen.`

The Lord kept reminding me as I prepared this message of a prophetic dream I had written about on May 21, 2019: Last night, I had a dream that an awakening angel came to me. This angel was blue and he could fit in the palm of your hand. He didn’t radiate any light from him like you’d expect from an angel. I asked him, “What kind of angel are you?” He said, “An awakening angel.” Next the voice that gave me the message didn’t sound like his so I don’t know if he gave me the message, but I heard, “Heed the sound of the trumpet. Heed the sound of the trumpet.” I had two more dreams about the same topic, except I told people about the dream.

The Lord is saying in this that He is going to empower His watchmen in this hour to dismantle any lies that cults have told.
