Judge Not; Lest Ye Be Judged

Hello everyone! This is a commentary on a certain blog which I read by Mario Murillo. I want to talk today as the title implies about what Jesus meant when He said, “Judge not; lest ye be judged.” I have taught on this previously on a Sermon Sunday, but there is more that needs to be said. For those that missed the blog, here it is:

That blog was discussing discerning the true vs. the false teachers of our day. I do believe that we should not pronounce judgement against false teachers in public unless we know for sure through much prayer and discussions with the person about whatever we disagree with them on, which is something I hadn’t thought to say at the time. (Also, we must obey the commands of Jesus when it persains to a brother/sister sinning against us. First, talk to that person one on one. If he/or she doesn’t listen, take someone with you and do the same. Then, if the person still refuses, go to the Church you are preaching at and publicly tell them. I may be paraphrasing it wrong, so look it up yourself to get my point). This blog, however, discusses a broader picture than just false/true doctrine.

Sinners Going To Hell, Saints Going To Heaven

To us, it is black and white and written in the Scriptures who goes where. First things first, the Believer universally understands that the nonbelieving person–the one who has not excepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior–will go to Hell. That is a judgment call that Believers make (except if they are among those that do not even believe that Hell exists, which I forgot about briefly while writing this blog). The Lord says in His Word that if I don’t forgive my brother or sister in Christ, the Father will NOT forgive me. Well, automatically, we assume that the place this person would go to is Hell. The following testimony is of an evangilist named Laurie Ditto (who, might I add, is a radical for Jesus Christ after experiencing what she describes, even writing a book called The Hell Conspiracy).

Before I posted the link, I watched the interview a second time and realized that the reason why the Lord took her to hell was because she was in rebellion to His Word. The next testimony is from a man named Rod Pickens who is also a radical for Christ.

I believe that whatever judgments we make must be given by the Spirit’s inspiration and leading. Rod also had unforgiveness in his heart, but he didn’t even know that it was still there. Had that been the real deal, he would have suffered loss in heaven. God told him, “You don’t get a well done.” I couldn’t tell exactly what he said in the last sentence, but you’ll hear that in the link above. I could go on and on about these testimonies, but due to lack of space, I will not. However, my point is simply this: God knows the heart of a person who is either about to go from this world or has already. If one is to make a judgment about that person’s eternal home, one must ask the Spirit what that judgment is.

Pointing Fingers

The book of Matthew in the same chapter as the verse we are currently discussing (Chapter 7), says, “Why would you focus on the flaw in someone else’s life and yet fail to notice the flaws of your own? How could you say to your friend, ×Let me show you where you’re wrong,∘ when you’re guilty of even more. You’re being hypocritical and a hypocrite! First accknowledge your own ×blind spots,∘ and deal with them, and then you’ll be capable of dealing with the ×blind spots,∘ of your friend.” (Matthew 7:3-5, TPT).

The Lord taught me a while back what this means politically. It means this:

  • No matter if you are affiliated with a political party or movement or not, you are hereby commanded–not advised–to point the finger at yourself first.
  • In the near future, I will be posting a blog which collects for you some solemn assemblies which were held in the month of September so that you can participate in them (I am participating as I post the links). The number one theme is said in a sentence that goes something like this: Lord, we know that we cannot point fingers at the White House, the Government, or anyone else. For Your Word says that if Your people which are called by Your name shall humble themselves and pray and seek Your face and turn from their wicked ways, then You will hear from heaven, You will forgive their sins, and You will heal their land. So we do that today. (The point is in what I am discussing about the Solemn Assemblies).
  • This list especially applies to you if you are a teacher, rather you are blogging like I am or preaching at a physical Church. For it says in James 3:1, TPT, “My dear brothers and sisters, don’t be so eager to become a teacher in the church since you know that we who teach are held to a higher standard of judgment.” You need to repent if you have stood in the pulpit and blamed everyone but neglected to look within the movement you follow. You say, “But the only One I follow is Christ!” Well, so do I. I am an independent yet because I feel like they are more biblical, I vote Republican only. Rather you be a registered Democrat, Republican, or independent, even if you deny it, you know exactly what I’m talking about. I’ll move on now, but pray about what I’m discussing.

Mario’s Blog and Commentary

In the first paragraph, Mario explains a lie which stems from the miss-use of Matthew 7:1, which says in the King James Version, “Judge not; lest ye be judged.” He also talks about the “smear campaign,” my words, not his for lack of better words, which his website got bombarded with.

Concerning the first paragraph, I would like to discuss my testimony on this topic. I still believe now what I believed then in a sense, but with more understanding. In the future, I will give a full testimony about this topic, but for now, I will only tell parts, due to lack of space. I parttook in groups which discussed prophecies the Lord wrote through a man named Mark Taylor, a retired Fireman. This group was talking like Joyce Meyer and other people were false teachers. Granted, some of the teachers they mentioned may watter down the gospel, but who is to say that they want to deceive their flock. But that’s beside my point. I used to quote the above verse every time someone would seem legalistic and judgmental. One day, I read the same verse in The Passion Translation, and it changed everything; for I had been asking myself, “What does this verse really mean? There are too many oppinions floating around.” Please read it slowly for yourself.

Refuse to be a critic full of bias toward others, and judgment will not be passed on you (Matthew 7:1, TPT). Selah!

I insinuated in some way with my words above that true preachers of the Gospel (who watter down the Gospel) may really be trying to reach their flock that God entrusted them with and don’t want them to be deceived. Like I said before, it is not my call to say if they are false teachers or not (except if I had been inspired to do so by the Spirit), for only Father God knows their hearss. However, I do believe what Mario states in the second paragraph. He says, “At some point, you have to make a moral judgment when you are witnessing.” However, I add this: The emphasis is on being Spirit-led. We cannot make any judgments on a person unless and until the Spirit tells us what that judgment is. Witnessing REQUIRES the Spirit’s leading!

He discusses the judgmentalism of liberals. He talks of a waiter he encountered in California (See blog for more details). I cannot speak for all and by no means have I lived in California and other states like it, but I can say that some have good hearts, even if they are not believers. These people may want to not offend people, looking out for that other person’s feelings. By no means am I justifying why they do this; for what they do is just as bad as being judgmental, but I simply state that perhaps they are not being judgmental, but rather sincere in their wanting to help everybody get along without offense, yet sincerely wrong.

He then goes on to quote some people’s works (See blog for more details). There is one thing I would like to point out: the part where they discuss the “My Truth Lie,” which I tried to discuss in a past blog, but is better conveyed in the quote Mario referred to. It is where people say, “That may be true for you, but not for me. We’re both right. Your truth is your truth, and my truth is my truth.”

Again, I want to give a little bit of my testimony. One day, I was talking with my Grandpa. We were discussing whether or not people should preach politics in the pulpits of the Church today (Note that in saying who I was talking to, it is to no disrespect to him and I am not attacking anyone or throwing them under the bus. I’m just doing this to make my point). He was discussing how some people believe that we should “just preach the Kingdom of God and stay out of politics.” I stated the facts about the history of this country and how Pastors preached politics from the founding of this nation, and that I believe we should do so even today. Now, he told me, “That’s your oppinion.” I say this knowing what I know: With all due respect to you who hold this belief, do you see where this has gotten the Church? In 1962, prayer was taken out of schools; 1973, Roe V. Wade; etc. The Church was silent. You get the point. If the Church were to, “Stay out of politics,” as you say, the whole world would die. Jesus said that we were to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth (Matthew 5). This is not my oppinion. I don’t say this with arrogance or pride, but my friend, this is the truth. The Pastor is instructed to teach all things Scripture, and what we call “politics” is first and foremost Biblical and issues of morality in some cases (for example, abortion). You are right in saying that Jesus’ Kingdom is not of this world, but wherever you live, God has placed you there as a steward of that nation. USE THE TIME THAT THE LORD HAS GIVEN YOU WISELY!

What is being said about preaching only the Kingdom of God is only half true in the way it is being presented. Satan does not want the Church in politics. I’ll tell you that right now. He knows that if we enter that arena, it will mess up his kingdom reaaaaaaaaalllllly bad, and he doesn’t want to be plundered in this way. Think about Matthew 16:18, but look up The Passion Translation of this verse on the internet or the original language/s it was written in. The Lord calls us His legislative assembly.

He goes on in the next paragraph continuing on his talk concerning the “My Truth Lie!” Here is my blog where I mention this also:

http://kingdom-advance.family.blog/2020/09/11/voting-for-biden/

He talks next about people who believe that we shouldn’t even call the actions of the terrorists that attacked America on 9/11 wrong (See blog for more details). The article from Time Magazine he quoted talked about doing so as “good-hearted arrogance.” I am reminded of the arrogant-sounding statement that our Lord made about Himself: He said, “I am The Way, I am The Truth, and I am The Life. No one comes next to the Father except through union with me.” (John 14:6, TPT).

Sounds arrogant, eh? On the surface it does. However, that doesn’t negate the fact that it is the absolute truth. So, it is the absolute truth that anyone performing terror attacks, genocide, etc. are, according to God, abhorrently evil. God hates the shedding of innocent blood. Therefore, God is not on the side of the terrorist, at least, not the God of the Bible!

Now, I would like to post the article from Mario Murillo. Sorry this has been so long. The posting of Mario’s blog will be the end of this blog, so I’d like to say my final thoughts. Please be sure that you post your feedback and share if this has helped in any way. Also, please pray about all that I’m saying. God bless!
