Great Awakening

Folks, today’s blog post is about the COVID-19 crisis. It has to do with the spiritual side of it. I urge you to take some notes and you might also want to save this blog post for later if you aren’t a notetaker. You’ll need to refer back to this in prayer:

God Works In The Ordinary

The following is a post first on Facebook by Larry Dean on a group on Facebook. To me, this is a must-read:

God Works In The Ordinary

He [God] Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).

A devout Christian heard an urgent news report on his radio that a flash flood was within minutes of entering the peaceful valley where he lived. Immediately he went to his knees and prayed for safety. The words were still on his lips when he became aware that water was gushing under his door. He retreated to the second floor and finally onto the roof of his house.

While he sat on the roof, a helicopter flew by and the pilot asked over the loudspeaker if they could lift him off. “It’s not necessary since I have the Lord’s protection,” he replied.

Moments later the house began to break up and he found himself clinging to a tree. A police boat, braving the waters, approached him for rescue, but he assured them that the Lord would save him.

Finally, the tree gave way and the man went to his death.

Standing before the Lord, he asked, “Lord, I’m glad to be here, but why didn’t You answer my prayer for safety?”

The Lord responded, “Son, I told you over the radio to get out of there Then I sent you a helicopter and a motor boat!”

Nowhere in the Bible are we given the idea that God works only in the extraordinary. Much of the time He supernaturally works through His created order. Many people think God is present only when there is a miracle and that He leads only through signs and wonders.

There are people who always look for a sign. They walk by sight, not by faith. To them, God is only present in the miraculous. God was “really” at the church service if something unusual happened. Many desire and look for “visitations” from God.

But how does that square with God’s omnipresence and the fact that He will never leave us or forsake us? Isn’t God at every church service? Since God created the fixed order of the universe, would you expect Him to work primarily within that fixed order or outside of it? If God gave us a watch, would we be honoring Him more by asking Him what time it is or by simply consulting the watch?

A Message To Woman

This blog post is another from Larry Dean from a group on Facebook. This one is a message to us women.

God’s Message to Woman

When I created the heavens and the earth, I spoke them into being. When I created man, I formed him and breathed life into his nostrils. But you, woman, I fashioned after I breathed the breath of life into man because your nostrils are too delicate. I allowed a deep sleep to come over him so I could patiently and perfectly fashion you.

Man was put to sleep so that he could not interfere with the creativity. From one bone I fashioned you. I chose the bone that protects man’s life. I chose the rib, which protects his heart and lungs and supports him, as you are meant to do.

Around this one bone I shaped you. I modeled you. I created you perfectly and beautifully. Your characteristics are as the rib, strong yet delicate and fragile. You provide protection for the most delicate organ in man, his heart. His heart is the center of his being; his lungs hold the breath of life. The rib cage will allow itself to be broken before it will allow damage to the heart.

Support man as the rib cage supports the body. You were not taken from his feet, to be under him, nor were you taken from his head, to be above him. You were taken from his side, to stand beside him and be held close to his side. You are my perfect angel. You are my beautiful little girl. You have grown to be a splendid woman of excellence, and my eyes fill when I see the virtue in your heart. Your eyes — don’t change them. Your lips — how lovely when they part in prayer. Your nose so perfect in form, your hands so gentle to touch.

I’ve caressed your face in your deepest sleep; I’ve held your heart close to mine. Of all that lives and breathes, you are the most like me.

Adam walked with me in the cool of the day and yet he was lonely. He could not see me or touch me. He could only feel me. So everything I wanted Adam to share and experience with me, I fashioned in you: my holiness, my strength, my purity, my love, my protection and support.

You are special because you are the extension of me. Man represents my image — woman, my emotions. Together, you represent the totality of God.

So man — “treat woman well. Love her, respect her, for she is fragile”. In hurting her, you hurt me. What you do to her, you do to me. In crushing her, you only damage your own heart, the heart of your Father and the heart of her Father. Woman, support man. In humility, show him the power of emotion I have given you. In gentle quietness show your strength. In love, show him that you are the rib that protects his inner self.

We Need To Pray

I don’t know how many of you have Facebook, so for those that don’t, I’ll go ahead and say part of it: Jim Baker had a stroke and is at home for a bit away from The Jim Baker Show. I don’t care what your oppinions are about him. I am calling each of us to pray for the healand wellness of one of our brothers in Christ! God bless!

Loving Others In Spite Of Their Sins

Loving Others in Spite of Their Sins

By David Wilkerson (1931-2011)

One of the supreme marks of a mature believer is love for all of lost humankind. Such a Christian shows love equally for Jews and Palestinians, for Bosnians and Serbs, for everyone.

Only a full-grown, mature believer can accept these words of Jesus: “Love your enemies. Pray for those who persecute you and spitefully use you. If your enemy is hungry, feed him.” I ask you: can you imagine spending a month in a Palestinian field hospital, nursing and feeding soldiers who want to destroy Israel? Can you keep your prejudices in check as you read inflammatory news reports in the coming days? Will you have the same spirit that was in Christ, who said as he was crucified, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do”?

If you want to walk as Jesus walked, you can’t allow your human passions to be inflamed by headlines. Christ died for every lost soul on this earth! Right now, our jails are filled with convicts who have become powerful witnesses of the saving love of Jesus, all because somebody loved them in spite of their sins.

Are you loving others in spite of how they may have hurt you, someone you care about or simply because they might be different than you? There are few things that make you more like Christ than when you sacrificially love someone, especially someone not in your circle or easy to naturally be around.

You can know you’re growing in grace if you’re able to pray for those whom the world hates. As we hear of terrible things happening, we’re to stand against every prejudice that rises up in us, and declare, “I take Christ’s authority over this. I will love humankind as my Lord did.”

Mission: Let’s be sure that we prayerfully examine our hearts to see if we are mature as Christians. Blessings!

I usually don’t buy things online (except if from iBooks due to being able to just get an iTunes card), but I wanted to advertize this on here. I’ve read John’s book called Unmasking The Devil and listened to teachings and interviews with him, and all were good. Chances are, there may be things that I’m missing out on, but just because I am doesn’t mean I want you to. So, with that being said, I’d just like to say, “May the Lord bless you in doing this bootcamp.”

Gentiles, Dogs and Jesus – Israel Bible Weekly

The most offensive statement of course has to do with Jesus’ comparison of Greek Gentiles to dogs. The key to understanding this text is
