Introduction: The Twelve Steps to Victory, Part 4

Today is the day. I will be teaching tonight at 6:30 P.M. on step 1 of this program on pride. For those of you that are new here, we are doing an introductory series of blogs to help you understand what the 12 Step Program is and how it relates to Christianity. At least half of the Christian church in my observation is against this program because they think that people do not in some way experience the power of God in it.

I used to be of the oppinion that people that are addicted to alcohol or drugs “just need deliverance,” and they don’t need this program and I won’t get into all of that but suffice it to say, I believe this program is based as you that follow this blog have seen out of Christian principles—principles found within the very pages of Scripture themselves.

Here are the final three steps, brought to you by Life Recovery Group.

  • We continued to take personal inventory, and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
  • We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry it out.
  • Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to others, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Here now is the final message.

About Tonight

I wanted to say somewhat of a word about tonight: The reason I will only be bringing one step is because of the way in which I meditate upon the Scriptures. I always ask the Lord what He would want to say to you directly. However, if you would like to begin to work the steps before tonight, feel free to do so. We will be doing this similar to AA and like programs where all testimonies will be done annonymously except by the consent of the one testifying. If you would like to comment below each video your testimony, feel free to do so for the help of others. However, even I have done things that I would wish would not be made public, so we are going to be doing it this way. This part is still in brainstorming but I am thinking of doing the testimonies before or after the recording happens so that all can feel free to speak everything they would like to without worrying about the recording or being guarded. God bless and see you in the comments tonight (if on YouTube. If not, you can text (1) 405-509-5337 your comments or comment below the blog I post afterward)!

P.S. I forgot to mention but instead of just finding one sponsor (although you can just pick one), find a group of people that you can do this with and have a PA (Proud Anonymous) meeting in your home. God bless!

My name is Patelin Cogswell. I was born on September 24, 1998. I was born in Oklahoma City. I went to Oklahoma School for the Blind and graduated in 2017. I am called as a Minister of the Gospel and an Intercessor. However, this is not about me. My life is dedicated to making Christ alone. This blog was called kingdomadvance.family.blog because I didn’t want my name on the blog like others do because I feel like it is not me living but Christ living through me.
