Are you a person that believes that you should take birth control so you won’t get pregnant? This will be a controversial podcast that we will be listening to on this blog, and because of what the guest will be discussing and how it will challenge some beliefs, I will be doing research like I have in other blogs so that you can read the links concerning this as well.
At the beginning of this podcast, Abby tells us of a time when she got headaches so severe that she’d have to lay down. These headaches were caused by Depro-provera, a contraceptive. She tells of this story as a background story that this is what we will be discussing.
Men, if you are reading this blog and you see that it is about birth control, please do not delete this email or leave this browser. You have women you love who are taking this stuff and everyone needs to be well-equipped and educated about this.
The guest for this podcast is Dr. Angela E. Lanfranchi (Listen to the podcast for a proper introduction as I tried to find something to write here but was not able to). Let’s begin.
In the podcast, Dr. Angela Lanfranchi tells us of a paper that Dr. John Wilks did, which not only shows that the birth control pill is a chemical abortifacient, but so is the morning-after pill which girls take after they’ve been raped.
Later on, Dr. Angela Lanfranchi talks about a website which has a list of Doctors that know the techniques of NAPRO (which you will hear about in the podcast). This link can be found here. They also talk about a brochure called The Pill Kills, whose link I just showed. This brochure can be bought at the link above, but also they have an 18-minute talk about the same topic. I now want to “get a second opinion,” so to speak, so here is an article from Healthline which documents that Gallbladder disease can be a side effect of the Birth Control. The article 20 Side Effects Of Birth Control That Every Woman Should Know documents the side effects from every form of contraception you could use. Note that these two articles are from people who support the use of contraceptions.
In doing research to coroborate the statement that Dr. Angela Lanfanchi makes about Birth Control and its link to Ulcerative Colitis, I found that it does, but it also causes IBD. About the topic of Birth Control causing infertility, supposedly, the research shows that it does not. However, the studies that they quoted talked mostly about IVF, which we talked about previously. They say that the ones that are concerned that contraceptives do cause infertility “should be taken with a grain of salt.” However, IVF and natural birth are different. They are by no means the same. As was established on this commentary on Politely Rude, IVF does not give the same rights to children as natural birth (when the child lives with the people giving birth to him or her). So, I believe that the article linked to above (except for when it talks about the contraceptives creating fake cycles, because Dr. Lanfranchi talks about the same thing in this podcast) should be taken with a grain of salt. Here is the podcast to learn more. Also, here is the website of the Breast Cancer Prevention Inisttute, where you can also download or order their books. God bless and if you have any feedback or questions, comment below!
