New Age Deception, Part 13

Today, I’d like to talk with you about wishing upon a shooting star. My Mom and I used to do this when I was a little girl, but I don’t do it anymore, mainly because I am more prone to asking the Lord, and then if it is not what He wants, I get what He wants, not my will. I also encourage you today to post not only your feedback in the comments below but also your stories. Have you done this in the past, or do you still do it? Have you had good experiences or bad?

3. Food for thought

Like I said a little bit ago, I used to participate in this activity when I was little. One day, I had a dream that I had wished upon a shooting star that I spent the weekend with my Grandma and that it came true. Today, I am graduated and out of high school (I actually think I did this activity in my teen years. It just seems so long ago so I thought it was when I was ll)disI actually live with Grandma today. The wish not only came true, but it exceeded my expectations. However, as Christians, like the article said above, we are not to control our own lives or worry excessively about what is to happen. So, just because a wish came true doesn’t make this activity any less demonic.

The Bible says, “Beware lest you become corrupt by making for yourselves [to worship] a graven image in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female, The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, or of any winged fowl that flies in the air, The likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, or of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth. And beware lest you lift up your eyes to the heavens, and when you see the sun, moon, and stars, even all the host of the heavens, you be drawn away and worship them and serve them, things which the Lord your God has allotted to all nations under the whole heaven. But the Lord has taken you and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be to Him a people of His own possession, as you are this day.”

Deuteronomy 4:16-20 AMPC

The lie the devil has whispered into the ears of the Church for so long is, “If it feels good, it has to be God.” Well, the Scriptures also say, “That doesn’t surprise us, for even Satan transforms himself to appear as an angel of light! So it’s no wonder his servants also go about pretending to be ministers of righteousness. But in the end they will be exposed and get exactly what they deserve.”

2 Corinthians 11:14-15 TPT

This verse is talking about some super-apostles that supposedly had the true gospel of Jesus Christ, but as you see when reading this Chapter in its entirety, that was not the case. My point in using this verse is that anything that looks, feels, smells, tastes, or feels good is not always God. Another verse to consider says, “Delightfully loved friends, don’t trust every spirit, but carefully examine what they say to determine if they are of God, because many false prophets have mingled into the world.”

1 John 4:1 TPT

This goes on to warn against false prophets and false teaching and gives us the test by which to use when listening to them. However, again, my point in bringing this up is making sure that God is truly the source of our activities.

4. Salvation:

Is there anyone reading this that wants to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Well, click this link and you will be instructed just how to do this. Be sure that you find a bible-based church or one online that can help you to continue in your walk with the Lord. If you are in the OKC area, check out 2101 NW 16th at 12:30 P.M. Preach Unto Them Jesus Church, which I attend, still does their services. Or, go to http://www.theparishokc.com for more information about the Church that bought our facility named The Parish. With that being said, here’s the link to how you can come to the Lord. Sorry I took so long to get to this point. God bless!

My name is Patelin Cogswell. I was born on September 24, 1998. I was born in Oklahoma City. I went to Oklahoma School for the Blind and graduated in 2017. I am called as a Minister of the Gospel and an Intercessor. However, this is not about me. My life is dedicated to making Christ alone. This blog was called kingdomadvance.family.blog because I didn’t want my name on the blog like others do because I feel like it is not me living but Christ living through me.
