Sermon Sunday: Eat The Meat And Spit Out The Bones

Hello everyone! Today, I’d like to address some false teaching in the Body of Christ. Also, someone can be a true teacher of the Word with good intentions and still teach some false teaching. The phrase you may have heard is, “Eat the meat and spit out the bones.”

By no means do I say that Bill Yount is a false teacher or false prophet; for all of us pick up these good-sounding phrases and think they are true and Biblical. However, they are not. Here’s the text of the post that he wrote on Facebook on August 17, 2020 at 5:28 P.M. He wrote:

“Don’t be so judgmental and picky. Eat the good and spit out the bones.” – Jesus

Jesus does talk a lot about not being judgmental in the Bible. For example:

““ Refuse to be a critic full of bias toward others, and judgment will not be passed on you.”

Matthew 7:1 TPT

Do you see the beauty in this Scripture? We can take it the wrong way if we read the NIV or other versions like it, but with this one, it draws it out clearly. Jesus Himself was delegated authority to judge; for it is written:

““The Father now judges no one, for he has given all the authority to judge to the Son,”

John 5:22 TPT

You may object and say that He was God. I object to your objection by saying, “Remember that Jesus was also fully human and He came to be an example to us as to how we ought to walk.” For it is written:

“We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!”

Hebrews 12:2 TPT

Paul also said, “Follow me as I follow Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1). Now, I’m not saying that Christ now judges no one because He has given His authority to us. Rather, I am saying that if Christ judged something, we are given the order through the Scriptures to judge righteously. We are just not to be critical. I believe there is a difference between being judgmental and having the judgmental spirit and calling out error. Sometimes, people call out the wrong “error,” wanting us to be bound again to the law. However, Paul and others as we are now seeing through the Warning Against Others series warns against people that want to bind us to the law. The Old Testament is by no means obsolete. God forbid! For Christ said, ““If you think I’ve come to set aside the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets, you’re mistaken. I have come to fulfill and bring to perfection all that has been written.”

Matthew 5:17 TPT

What my point is is that there is a Biblical precedent. We need to prayerfully aspire to keeping that precedent when judging righteously. So, what Bill said is by no means biblical. I’d like to post on here some teachings and articles about how to tell if you are encountering a false teacher/prophet.

Now for the article:

Prayerfully consider all of this before the Lord. Also, here’s the post that Bill wrote at the link below:

I am called as a Minister of the Gospel and an Intercessor. However, this is not about me. My life is dedicated to making Christ alone. This blog was called kingdomadvance.family.blog because I didn’t want my name on the blog like others do because I feel like it is not me living but Christ living through me.
