Hello folks! That was just the introduction to the whole study we are doing. This is the introduction to the study of the Gospels. Here is a question to ponder: What type of teachers or leaders did our Lord Jesus Christ warn against? I understand that there are teachers out there that cheapen the grace of God, and that needs to be taken into account, but we must look to Scripture as our authority pertaining to speaking against false teachers/prophets. If a preacher preaches cheapened grace (or so we think), we need to look at his fruits. We cannot just look at the theological arguments presented. It can be very hard to do this when your mind is confused. But here is what I feel like the Lord instructed me to do: Start writting a journal of questions that you have pertaining to what you are listening to and take them before the Spirit of God and see if He intends for us to believe what the teacher presents before us. People like to look to the Old Testament for an excuse to warn against certain teachers. It is ok to look to the Old Testament; for it is just as inspired as the New (2 Timothy 3:16). However, that does not negate the fact that our Lord is our example. Does not Paul say, “Follow me as I follow Christ?” (1 Corinthians 11:1). Selah!
Jesus said over and over in the Scriptures, “That which I do, I don’t do on my own authority, but I do and say that which the Father does and says.” So many of us are carnal in our judgments in that we judge by appearances. It is said of Jesus:
“And He will delight in the fear of the LORD, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make decisions by what His ears hear; But with righteousness and justice He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the downtrodden of the earth; And He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. And righteousness will be the belt around His loins, And faithfulness the belt around His waist.”

Well, aren’t we His body? Selah!
“But wait!” you say. “How does He not judge by what His eyes see or what His ears hear?” Well, He leaned into the Father’s heart. As a baby depends on its mother, so did our Lord depend on the Father. He said that apart from Him, we could do nothing, and He meant it. He lived that line out. So, do you think it’s time for us to start doing the same? Selah!
I want us to be thinking about these things. These are things that are crucial to judging righteously. God bless!
