Folks, I am writing this as I study what I’m about to reveal to you. This that I write today is just the Introduction to a series of blogs. I want to talk to you about something controversial. This has almost always been on my heart. It has been now more than ever ever since I’m trying to come out of the Pharasaic lifestyle which I have been in for so long. I know our Lord has called me to be a watchman, so at times I will sound hard (which, people forget the fact that so was our Lord when He taught). I want to talk with you about which teachers should we be warning against according to the Scriptures. I see people that are Church leaders of our day–noted leaders–having TV shows and such calling out, not always by name but doing it nonetheless, people such as Joseph Prince, Joyce Meyer, etc. By no means am I trying to disrespect our leaders. I just want all of the body to be living in the fullness not only of the Spirit, but also the Word of God. I am not trying to defend any one teacher or attack them. All of us are in some way flawed messengers and may be deceiving ourselves and unintentionally deceiving others, but I am only here to defend the very Word of God that all of us claim to follow. I want to set this straight in my own heart, while at the same time, helping you to understand this. Of course, don’t just sit back and think that you are exempt from studying just because I did it all for you. I want us to learn to be like the Bereans. The Body of Christ, I believe are all called to be like the Bereans which listened to Paul and tested his message by seeing through study if it is of the Lord. I want to say a prayer and consecrate these days of journey that we are about to embark on.
Father, we humbly come before You and ask that You would teach us what You want us to learn. We ask that You would help us to live exactly as the Word of God commands us to, and help us to not be such Pharisees while doing it. Make Yourself known to each heart as I write this and they read it. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and by the power and authority of His Name, by faith in the Word of God, by the third day resurrection of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and by the blood of the Lamb, Amen!
