The Truth About Abortion And Human Life, Part 17: A Commentary On Unplanned By Abby Johnson, Part 3

Hello! Today, I’d like to discuss some more with you the book called Unplanned.

Inside Out

This chapter discusses the downward slope that is happening. Abby was employe of the year, but now she finds herself being reprimanded. She starts to pack up her things that she’d had in her office as Director at Planned Parenthood (only the personal items).

The Wrong Side Of The Fence

This chapter tells us the ins and outs of what went down when she was trying to first leave the clinic. The book, movie and the video about Abby walking away from Planned Parenthood here, all describe the reasons why she went to Coalition For Life’s building and didn’t just walk completely away.

Open Arms

This chapter explains where the job hunt Abby was conducting tokk her. Hint: Coalition For Life helped her. During this time, they had prayed for her and she felt the closeness with God that she’d longed for.

Keeping Confidence

The chapter begins with Abby telling her two trusted friends at her clinic. Then she goes into the details of the meeting at Coalition For Life, where Shawn tells his team that they had to keep her leave secret, not even telling the board. You will hear the rest of the story in the book when or if you read it.

The Right Thing To Do

This chapter discusses her meeting with Dr. Haywood Robinson. It also talks of her resignation and how it all came about and how she felt during it all.

Facing Forward

This chapter discusses more of Abby’s healing process and how she prayed at the fence of her old Planned Parenthood clinic and found healing and deliverance.

The Injunction (Uh-O)!

This chapter discusses the beginnings of the litigation that Abby and Coalition For Life had to be a part of as defendants–how that they both had the same lawyer willing for free to represent them. Abby describes the thoughts and feelings she had during this time and thoughts and feelings of Shawn from Coalition For Life as well.

The Red Carpet

This chapter discusses the many media interviews that Abby had and how her story of her departure from Planned Parenthood caused a media frenzy and helped other women who suffered the pain of abortion through it, helping others to decide against aborting their child. It also describes the persecution she received from all sides of the spectrum, even members of her own Church she attended at the time.

The Unexpected Gift

This chapter discusses some more media interviews and also some persecution that she encountered and her thoughts and feelings through it all. It tells of rejection and joyous moments also, one of which was how she’d be able to reach out again to and be close to her ex-husband’s son and his family through Facebook and email. To fill in the blanks that I’ve left, you will need to read the book yourself.

The Hearing

This chapter discusses the beginning of the court hearing and how everyone felt through it all.

The Ruling

I will not disclose everything that went on in this chapter because of the fact that I want you to read and see for yourself, but this chapter mainly discusses how the trial ended and the judge’s ruling, Lunch, and how everyone felt during these events.

The Revelation

This is the final chapter of this book. This chapter gives us a history lesson on Coalition For Life and their campaign called Forty Days For Life. After this story’s conclusion, it discusses how Shawn felt about it all and how that Abby was converted to the pro-life cause.

The next part of this chapter is another story of a woman who was frightened. I won’t go into the details of the story because I want you to find out for yourself, but this chapter tells us of her decision and it also talks briefly about a new escort at Planned Parenthood.

The epilogue will conclude this book with other amazing feats in her part of God’s story He’s telling concerning the ending of abortion. When talking about the closing of her clinic and the celebration, she asks us to open to links which can be found here, and and also at, but I’m unsure of if you are able to see the stories at the last link. I in writing checked it out and my browser said that it was currently unavailable. This will be the end of this blog and this series. Please let me know if you have any feedback in the comments and/or if you have had any success in looking at the second link. God bless!
